GASP! & a quote to think about.
BUT THATS BECAUSE IM 20, I CAN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I'VE BEEN SICK, & I CHOOSE TO WORK FOR A SMALL BUSINESS WHO DOESN'T OFFER HEALTH COVERAGE.
HERE IS THE "GASP!" OF MY SHORT STORY... I'M ABOUT TO HAVE TWO [MAYBE 3] DR. "CHECK UP" APPOINTMENTS & I'M PAYING CASH :] DOCTOR'S LOVE CASH.
*THIS #, ALTHOUGH USED BY SOME, HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN ACCURATE. IN FACT NO ONE KNOWS HOW IT WAS CALCULATED AND ISN'T EVEN CLOSE TO THE ACTUAL # LISTED ON THE LATEST CENSUS.
and here is the quote to think about -
"It stands to reason that where there’s sacrifice, there’s someone collecting sacrificial offerings. Where there’s service, there’s someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice, speaks of slaves and masters. And intends to be the master."
“The Soul of a Collectivist,” For the New Intellectual, 73.
[just one of the gazillion times our president has asked us to sacrifice so far - Obama's says in his acceptance speech (regarding the recovery of the economy): "It can't happen without you, without a new spirit of service, a new spirit of sacrifice. So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism, of responsibility, where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other." ... what exactly does that mean in the political world... no one is sure... no one will explain it.]

sunny day sunday
Not so sweet - was the clueless young lady at walmart. Im minding my own business grabbing a 3lb bag of cheese and some girl probably in her 20's in a little purple summer dress and super high heels looks me up and down and decides I'm probably smarter than she is and asks, "how many ounces make a pound?" ... "16" I replied pretty quickly... "really!?...Thanks!!" she said & looked back down at the package. So when I got home I asked my brother, "hey Nate(still in Jr. High), how many ounces are in a pound?", "16...why?". And with that I concluded I wasn't being TOO critical.
We also got to see our future apartment on Sunday-its tiny[ < 700 sq ft.] & perfect. We ate lunch at Carrabbas with our favs H&B and finished it off with the "blemished" study, my homemade chicken & cheese enchiladas for dinner, and some 4 on 5 [windy] volleyball. It was a great day... not to mention I got the kids in Pre-school to put on animal hand puppets and sing "old mcdonald had a farm...e i e i o" :] Its a good, good life.

"most of us have our own grief, broken dreams, & damaged hearts...
And back to a more serious note:
Pray for my nephew Brody. He goes into surgery soon... to release the fluid off his swelling brain. Pray for Heather & Bret too. Also Doctor's found another brain bleed on baby Kylee. Remember to pray with great FAITH, because "Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you can not see." Hebrews 11:1.
And back again to a lighter note:
Im 1/2 way done baking the cakes to make my trial 3-tiered wedding cake... what can I say... I like a good baking challenge. I'll post pictures of it soon :]]] It's supposed to look something like this...
then I'll be adding edible shimmer stuff and my ribbon will be aqua blue. The topper will be a 4" letter "K" but I haven't bought it yet so it won't be here in time for the trial cake... I might throw some Gerber daisies on the top too, we'll see. When it's finished we can have a cake eating par-tay!? anyone? I really shouldn't eat any, I ordered a size 4 wedding dress. :/
well, blogging is kinda fun. I'm still getting used to it.
Im out,

I'm just saying...
My favorite example of common sense being completely ignored is the "minimum wage" arguement. PLEASE tell me why if raising the minimum wage really helps the little guy, than why don't we just make the minimum wage a million dollars and call this problem solved? Well you see if we pay the little guy 1 mil... the big guy will just get 100 mil... and milk will cost $500.00 a gallon.
I hope you're having an "ahh haa!" common sense moment.
Another great one is the "carbon" arguement. Carbon is a naturaly occuring substance. So how could someting so essential to our being, our livelyhood, be destroying the earth. Some "global warming" finatic out there had her tubes tied so she wouldn't bring any more carbon producing life forms into the world (it's a true story). If we all did that... there would be no life.
I hope you're having another "ahh haa!", common sense moment.
and then the "tax" arguement too. Obama wants to raise taxes on the rich. Ok, so raise the taxes on the rich people and then the rich people's small & large businesses are in jepardy. Who works at the rich people's small & large businesses...hmmm probably you! Who buys the products produced by the rich people's small and large businesses...hmmm probably you! You get where I'm going with this... If I'm a "rich person" and my taxes go up I'm gunna raise the price of my businesses products, not spend as much money at the business you work for, and possibly lay off some of my employees or cut their pay.
I hope you're having yet another "ahh haa!", common sense moment.
Don't let anyone convince you that issues aren't as simple as common sense...but more importantly get informed... ignorance is only bliss until it starts taking away your rights.
